Hull Business Womens Breakfast Club

Hull Business Womens Breakfast Club Networking Group

"To provide the opportunity for career and business women to share knowledge, experience and friendship"

Hull Businesswomen's Breakfast Club is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2012.

With a maximum membership of just 50, the Hull Businesswomen's Breakfast Club (HBBC) has members from a wide range of businesses and professions.  There are business owners of SME's as well as managers of multinational organisations and, all these members work in the Hull or East Riding of Yorkshire area and are all passionate about the area and it's success.

Meetings are monthly and commence at 7.45 a.m. with breakfast. This is followed by a presentation from a key note speaker from within the local business community. Recent speakers have included Chris Abbott, Head at South Hunsley School and Ian McKintosh President AAK.

The Club enjoys visiting a local organisation at least once a year, venues have included Hull Business School at the University of Hull and HOTA (Humberside Offshore Training As

The meetings are concluded by 9:30 a.m.

The aim of the speaker is to inform and entertain.  HBBC has had a diverse range of speakers from MP's to educationalists, charity leaders to company directors.

Successful networking is what makes the club unique, with each individual member representing a different industry sector. Not a specific reason to join, but one of the many benefits of joining in that each member is unique and has a wealth of experience from their particular sphere to pass on to others.

Whilst HBBC is not a charity, it has used the strength of its networking and business knowledge to support many business and educational initiatives since it was started in 1992, by Liz Johnson who as well as being the club's founder is the only honorary member.

Business mentoring, participating in school industry days, judging awards, and helping with the Princes Trust are all undertaken by members, more recently a team of 5 members from the Club , 'The Early Birds' won the first ' Who wants to be an £ntrepreneur' competition for Young Enterprise raising just over £ 3000 in 2009

But our greatest strength is the support that we give one another.  Whether it is listening to problems, sharing advice, passing on a useful tip or contact the HBBC is a brilliant organisation for Women.
